Welcome to Directorate of Field Publicity, Ranchi
             Directorate of Field Publicity (DFP) is a Nodal Department of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, Head quarter at New Delhi, with 22 Regional Offices across the country. Each Regional office has several Field Publicity Units (F.P.Us) within its jurisdiction and is headed by an officer of the rank of Director / Joint Director / Deputy Director. The Units undertake social mobilization and community participation initiatives in rural areas especially “media shadow” areas on a wide variety of themes of contemporary social relevance to include health, education, rural development, women’s empowerment , welfare of minorities and marginalized sections of society, Child Rights, Conservation of Environment, Water conservation, Water conservation, Right to Information.

Directorate of Field Publicity, Ranchi, Jharkhand & Central Bihar Region has Thirty districts under its jurisdiction. Each unit is headed by a Field Publicity Officer (F.P.O.) and assisted by a Field Publicity Assistant (F.P.A.). The Field Publicity Units (F.P.U.s) presently under region are located in the districts of Chaibasa, Dhanbad, Dumka, Daltonganj, Gumla, Gaya, and Jamsedpur with each Units having on an average 4-5 districts under its jurisdiction. 

 

           Highlights
 
DFP Jharkhand and Central Bihar Region has successfully organized twenty three RMNCH+A Phase -2 programs in Pakur, Sahibganj , Godda, Dumka of Santhal Pragana Division : Lohardaga, Gumla, Simdega, West Singhbhum and Saraikela Kharsawan Districts of South Chotanagpur Division and Palamu and Latehar Districts of Jharkhand. Bodhgaya and Sherghati of Gaya District of Jharkhand and Central Bihar Region. So far a total number of twenty three(23) programs were organized successfully. All these programs were organized in most backward and LWE hit areas.
