    VISION:

     We envision to inform and empower the people with awareness on central government policies and programmes –

           • Making people informed through interpersonal sustained publicity campaigning;

              • Bringing about attitudinal changes in the minds of the people through publicity programmes;

           • Mobilising public opinion in favour of implementation of welfare and development programmes.

    OUR MISSION:

     We act as a facilitator in coordination with state/ central government departments/ agencies to create awareness about the policies, programmes and achievements of the government.

     Our mission thus is to empower the weaker sections of society especially at the grass roots level with information about schemes meant for their betterment and persuade them to derive benefit from them.These include:-

                • To collect feedback and report to the development agency in measurable, analyzable and actionable manner.

                     • To the client Ministries to enable them to tailor their plan and formulate polices in the best interest of the common man.

      INDICATIVE EXPECTATIONS FROM SERVICE RECIPIENTS: Our services to the citizens are absolutely free. We do not charge fee for providing publicity support to our clients on various on-going national themes. However, we organize special programmes to focus on specific themes on client ministry/organisation’s request and these are organized on the basis of funds made available to DFP by the concerned ministry/ organization.

SUGGESTIONS: We welcome suggestions for improving the quality of our programmes and serving the citizens of the country through our programmes.

NEXT REVIEW OF THE CHARTER :

      e) Any grievance may first be lodged with the concerned Regional Officer.

     RESPONSIBILITY CENTERS AND SUBORDINATE ORGANIZATIONS :

     The Directorate has 22 Regional Offices (detailed below) each headed by an Additional Director General/Director/Joint Director/Dy. Director level officer to supervise publicity activities of units under their jurisdiction. Presently there are 207 Field Publicity Units headed by a Field Publicity Officer and are equipped with audio-visual equipment, publicity literature, exhibition kits and a vehicle, which carry out the publicity activities on government policies and programmes.

        As part of publicity activities, film shows, song and drama programmes, sports meets, debates, competitions, quiz, seminars, talks, group discussions, healthy baby shows, rallies etc. are organized by our field units.

Highlights
 
With an objective to create a strong and prosperous new India by 2022 and to promote a sense of national unity and integrity among a cross section of people Field Publicity Office Baripada in co-ordination with Field Publicity office, Balasore organised a Special Programme on “Naye Bharat Ka Manthan... Sankalp se Siddhi..” at Badakhilada village in Kaptipada Block of Mayurbhanj district on 22-23 August 2017. During the programme awareness rally, symposium, message oriented magic Show, cultural programmes were organised to motivate the participants in order to contribute significantly for building a new India. Apart from this all field publicity Units of DFP, Odisha Region administered Naye Bharat ka Sankalp pledge to the public to create a new India that is devoid of Garbage, corruption, poverty, terrorism and casteism. Field Publicity Office, Jeypore in co-ordination with Bhawanipatna Unit organised two programmes on 3rd National Handloom Day, one at Kotpad and the other in Central University of Orissa of Koraput on 5 August and 7 August respectively. The very objective of the programme was to create awareness among the public on the importance of handloom industry in the socio-economic development of the country in general and to promote handloom, increase the income of weavers and enhance the pride of the weavers in particular. During its 1st programme at Kotpad in Koraput district information on Boonakar Suraksha Bima Yojana, Weavers Mudra Scheme and other welfare programmes meant for the weavers were disseminated. During the programme awareness rally, symposium, cultural programme and quiz competition was organised. The Unit observed its second programme on National Handloom Day at Central university of Orissa, Koraput on 7 August 2017. 6 (six) National award winning weavers including one Sant Kabir awardee were felicitated by the Vice-chancellor of the University Prof. Sachidananda Mohanty for their outstanding contribution in the field of ethnic handloom product. Besides this Field Publicity office, Jeypore observed “Kargil Vijay Diwas” on 26.7.2017 and organised a symposium and Elocution contest on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan among the students of Challanguda M.E.School on 27.7.2017 in the LWE affected Malkangiri district. Similarly Field Publicity Office Berhampur participated in the World Breast Feeding week programme organised by five Gaon Kalyan Samities of Ganju Grampanchyata under Keluapalli C.H.C on 03.08.17 of Ganjam district. and disseminated information on the importance of Breast feeding. The Baripada Unit also organised one awareness programme on World Breast Feeding Week-17 to mark the day in Kadalibadia village under Shyamkhunta block of Mayurbhanj dist on 4.8.17 with participants of AWWs,ASHAs, SHG women members and other lacteting mothers .The Unit also disseminated information on Malaria, Dengue, Diarrhoea and on the importance of 75 years of Quit India Movement besides providing information on other flagship programmes during its publicity programme in the LWE affected G.Udayagiri Block of Gajapati district and in Rangeilunda Block of Ganjam district. Both Kendujhar Unit and Bhawanipatna Unit organised awareness programme on Naye Bharat Ka Sankalp besides disseminating information on other flaghip programmes during their publicity programmes in Telkoi and Banspal Block in Keonjhar district and Madan Pur Rampur Block and Bhawanipatna Block in Kalahandi district. Both the unit also disseminated information on the ill effects of child marriage and Human Trafficking. Apart from this all Field Publicity Offices of DFP, Odisha Region observed 71st Independence Day in a befitting manner and organised suitable programmes comprising elocution, Film show, Group discussion, Photo Exhibition on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Skill India Mission, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, cashless transaction and other flagship programmes of Government of India. and also administered the pledge on New India Manthan.....
