    VISION:

     We envision to inform and empower the people with awareness on central government policies and programmes –

           • Making people informed through interpersonal sustained publicity campaigning;

              • Bringing about attitudinal changes in the minds of the people through publicity programmes;

           • Mobilising public opinion in favour of implementation of welfare and development programmes.

    OUR MISSION:

     We act as a facilitator in coordination with state/ central government departments/ agencies to create awareness about the policies, programmes and achievements of the government.

     Our mission thus is to empower the weaker sections of society especially at the grass roots level with information about schemes meant for their betterment and persuade them to derive benefit from them.These include:-

                • To collect feedback and report to the development agency in measurable, analyzable and actionable manner.

                     • To the client Ministries to enable them to tailor their plan and formulate polices in the best interest of the common man.

      INDICATIVE EXPECTATIONS FROM SERVICE RECIPIENTS: Our services to the citizens are absolutely free. We do not charge fee for providing publicity support to our clients on various on-going national themes. However, we organize special programmes to focus on specific themes on client ministry/organisation’s request and these are organized on the basis of funds made available to DFP by the concerned ministry/ organization.

SUGGESTIONS: We welcome suggestions for improving the quality of our programmes and serving the citizens of the country through our programmes.

     RESPONSIBILITY CENTERS AND SUBORDINATE ORGANIZATIONS :

     The Directorate has 22 Regional Offices (detailed below) each headed by an Additional Director General/Director/Joint Director/Dy. Director level officer to supervise publicity activities of units under their jurisdiction. Presently there are 207 Field Publicity Units headed by a Field Publicity Officer and are equipped with audio-visual equipment, publicity literature, exhibition kits and a vehicle, which carry out the publicity activities on government policies and programmes.

        As part of publicity activities, film shows, song and drama programmes, sports meets, debates, competitions, quiz, seminars, talks, group discussions, healthy baby shows, rallies etc. are organized by our field units.

Highlights
 
As a mean of direct communication of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Govt. of India, the Directorate of Field Publicity (DFP) Odisha region organized various types of publicity activities on the various flagship schemes of the Government of India in different districts of the state during the month of October 2017. The motto is to make the country a New India by 2022 on the year of platinum jubilee i.e 75th years of independence of India with the approaching slogan titled ‘ Naya Bharat Ka Manthan……. Sankalp se Siddhi Lana he…..” The DFP organized special programmes on Hastkala Sahayog Sivir, Paryatan Parv and Swachhta hi Seva in the districts of Boudh, Dhenkanal, Rayagada, Puri and Ganjam in a befitting manner apart to the carrying out of routine publicity programmes in both LWE and other areas of the state during the month under report. The Phulbani Unit of DFP Odisha region organized as well as took part in two special publicity programmes on Hastkala Sahayog Sivir held in Boudh town and Jagati village of sadar block of Boudh district on 16 and 17 .10.2017. Similarly Keonjhar Unit also organized as well as took part in one Hastkala Sahayog Sivir held in Banasingha village of Dhenkanal district on 17.10.2017. During the programmes, the unit informed the participants particularly from the weaver and artisan class on Mahatma Gandhi Bunkar Bima Yojana, Hath Kargha Sambardhana Sahayata Scheme, Bunkar MUDRA Yojana, Use of e.dhaga Apps etc launched by the Ministry of Textile, Handloom and Handicraft, Govt. of India. A composite programme of awareness rally, workshop, live demonstration of handloom & handicraft, quiz contest, video film show, photo exhibition and distribution of publicity material on hastkala were carried out during the special programmes. The hastkala sivirs were supported by the both central and state department of textile and handicraft. Other units namely Berhampur and Sambalpur had actively taken part in those shivirs respectively. Besides, Sambalpur unit took part in other Hastkala Sahayaog Shivirs held in Atabira, Ghess and Barapali of Bargarh dist on 11.10.17 to 13.10.17. Sh. Pravash Kumar Singh, MP(LS) had attended shivirs held in Bargarh dist. and Bhawanipatna unit took part in Patnagarh of Balangir dist on 17. 10.17 and extended all supports to the host and also conducted quiz contest on various schemes among the weavers and artisans as participants. Prizes were also were given away by the DFP Units. In another special progrmme, DFP Berhampur unit coordinated for the successful celebration of Paryatan Parv-2017 held in Rambha on Chilika lake of Ganjam district on 17.10.2017. The Berhampur unit extended all support to the combined hosts of India Tourism and Odisha Tourism in organizing Yoga, heritage walk, tourism quiz and cultural evening of Paryatan Parv-17. The talk on themes of the Paryatan Parv titled” Come ,Let us celebrate, Tourism for all and Dekho Apna Desh”were highly presented before the tourists, participants and youths by the FPO, Berhampur unit during the day long celebration of Paryatan Parv-17. The Berhampur unit also took part in one mega awareness progrmme on “Swachhata hi Seva” and Swachh Bharat Abhijan held in Sri Jagannath Junior College, Gondala village of Hinjilicut block of Ganjam district on 18.10.2017. The unit conducted the awareness rally, screened video films and presented a talk on Swachhata hi Seva as a part of the programme. Similarly, Jeypore unit organised one special programme on SBA in Saraswati Sisu Vidya Mandir in Kolanara block of Rayagada dist. while Puri unit organised one special programme on SBA in Chhaitana High School under Sadar block of Puri dist. On the other hand Keonjhar unit took part in the observance of International Girl Child Day on 11 Oct. 17 in a programme held in Pipilia GP ,Ghatagaon block of Keonjhar dist by local leading NGO WOSCA of Keonjhar. Apart to these the units as well as Regional Office of the DFP Odisha region observed Swachhata hi Seva on 02 October 2017 and administered the Swachhata pledge and conducted cleanliness drive in their respective office premises. During the routine field visits to the rural areas of the state, the units disseminated messages, appeals and information on Goods and Service Tax, NICH, NFIS, Digi Dhan, Skill India, BBBP, H& FW, M& CH, non-violence, use and promotion of Khadi among the target group of the programmes.
