    VISION:

     We envision to inform and empower the people with awareness on central government policies and programmes –

           • Making people informed through interpersonal sustained publicity campaigning;

              • Bringing about attitudinal changes in the minds of the people through publicity programmes;

           • Mobilising public opinion in favour of implementation of welfare and development programmes.

    OUR MISSION:

     We act as a facilitator in coordination with state/ central government departments/ agencies to create awareness about the policies, programmes and achievements of the government.

     Our mission thus is to empower the weaker sections of society especially at the grass roots level with information about schemes meant for their betterment and persuade them to derive benefit from them.These include:-

                • To collect feedback and report to the development agency in measurable, analyzable and actionable manner.

                     • To the client Ministries to enable them to tailor their plan and formulate polices in the best interest of the common man.

     RESPONSIBILITY CENTERS AND SUBORDINATE ORGANIZATIONS :

     The Directorate has 22 Regional Offices (detailed below) each headed by an Additional Director General/Director/Joint Director/Dy. Director level officer to supervise publicity activities of units under their jurisdiction. Presently there are 207 Field Publicity Units headed by a Field Publicity Officer and are equipped with audio-visual equipment, publicity literature, exhibition kits and a vehicle, which carry out the publicity activities on government policies and programmes.

        As part of publicity activities, film shows, song and drama programmes, sports meets, debates, competitions, quiz, seminars, talks, group discussions, healthy baby shows, rallies etc. are organized by our field units.

 INDICATIVE EXPECTATIONS FROM SERVICE RECIPIENTS:

     Our services to the citizens are absolutely free. We do not charge fee for providing publicity support to our clients on various on-going national themes. However, we organize special programmes to focus on specific themes on client ministry/organisation’s request and these are organized on the basis of funds made available to DFP by the concerned ministry/ organization.

     We welcome suggestions for improving the quality of our programmes and serving the citizens of the country through our programmes.

Highlights
 
Units of the Region namely, Godhra, Bhavnagar, Bhuj, Junagadh, Palanpur organised programmes on Honb'le PM's MAN KI BAAT at different venues of their respective jurisdictions.
 
During the period under report, six DFP units in Gujarat arranged 69, film shows, 83,group discussions, 57, photo exhibitions and 18,special interactive programmes on health & DBT. They submitted 93 feedback reports. Through these programmes, they reached around 45 thousand people. A campaign on ‘Direct benefit scheme’ was launched at Mehsana and Bhavnagar where the programme will be rolled out in future. Junagadh and Bhavnagar units are participating in Public Information Campaign held at Sardhar in Rajkot district. Units organized special programmes on the occasion of Pulse Polio day on 24th February.
During the period under report, six DFP units in Gujarat arranged 94 film shows, 101 group discussions, 68 photo exhibitions and 9 special interactive programmes with a focus on ‘National Rural Drinking Water Programme’. They submitted 47 feedback reports. Surat unit organized a special programme on the occasion of ‘World Population day’ which attracted wide publicity in print media. Palanpur unit organized a quiz competition at Lunpur high school in Deesa district on NRDWP. Regional office organized an orientation workshop for health awareness campaign at Ahmedabad in collaboration with Song & Drama division.
A total of 72 film shows, 10 special programmes and 46 photo exhibitions were organized during the month. Godhra unit arranged a Quiz contest on Bharat Nirman at Adarsh Nivasi Shala of Raniyar village of Zalod block of Dahod district. A similar

Special programmes were organized on the occasion of Independence day celebrations,Breast feeding week and Sadbhavna divas..Junagadh unit organized a elocution competition in Gondal block on PM’s 15-point programme for minorities. Bhavnagar unit organized a special programme on ‘Breast feeding week’. Surat unit organized a special programme on the occasion of ‘Sadbhavna divas’ which attracted wide publicity in print media.
