In the last week of September, 2014 DFP, West Bengal(S) Region organized mass awareness programmes on Right To Information(RTI) among the target group of audience. Other important themes like Health & FW, NICH, AIDS, Mother and Child Health, Save Water, Girl Child Education were also publicised by the FPUs of WB(S) Region In October 2014. To create mass awareness on the above themes, the FPUs covered 34 villages of BADP areas in Murshidabad , North 24 Parganas and Nadia districts, 14 villages of LWE areas in Bankura and Paschim Medinipur districts, 14 villages in Minority Community(MCD) areas of Bardhaman & Hooghly districts and in 08 village of other identified areas in North 24 Parganas, Kolkata and Hooghly districts. Altogether 147 group discussions, 17 special programmes, 67 photo exhibitions and 46 film shows were conducted while a total 38658 people(Approx.) were covered in the month of October 2014. Total 25 feedback stories were collected by the units of West Bengal(South) Region in October 2014. FPUs namely Chuchura and Medinipur organized suitable publicity programmes including rally, seminars, three competitions and other related publicity programmes during arrival and halting period of Science Express Biodiversity Special train for a period of four days from 25th to 28th September, 2014 in and around Barasat Railway Station(Kolkata), North 24 Parganas district involving School children, teachers, youths and local people. A seminar on Biodiversity & its Conservation was organized by FPU Chinsurah jointly with District Administration, North 24 Parganas district in Rabindra Bhavan, Barasat on 26.09.2014 where Director, DFP, Kolkata attended and delivered the welcome address & introductory speech on behalf of DFP. Besides other eminent personalities namely Shri Saikat Kr. Dutta ADM(Development), North 24 Pgs. District, Shri Bijit Kr. Dhar, ADM(Land Revenue), North 24 Pgs,Shri Manobendra Das, Secretary Jilla Parisad, North 24 Pgs,Shri Samrat Chatterjee, Chairman, District Primary School Council, Shri S Palodhi, ADG(M&C), PIB, Kolkata, Shri Sandipan Dasgupta FPO Chuchura and others were present in the seminar. FPU Bankura attended Indian National Exhibition Cum-Fair 2014 held at Science City Ground , J.B.S. Haldane Avenue, Kolkata for three days from 23rd to 25th September 2014 and organized suitable publicity programmes on RTI and Biodiversity. On 02.10.2014 all the staff members of Regional Office and FPUs of DFP West Bengal(South) Region observed ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ by taking Pledge in three languages namely Hindi, English and Bengali along with Cleanliness Drive on 02.10.2014 at 11.00 hrs. at the respective Office premises and outside the office premises of both RO and FPUs with a view to realize Gandhiji’s dream of a Clean India by the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi in 2019.
