                      Arunachal Pradesh region of Directorate of Field Publicity (DFP) is one of the most important functionaries of DFP regions in the country. It is the largest state of North-East India in terms of area with a least populous state of the country. Total 9 Field Publicity Units under this region cover 17 districts in the state. These units are located in Along (Aalo) (West Siang district), Bomdila (West Kameng district), Daporijo (Upper Subansiri district), Nampong (Changlang district), Pasighat (East Siang district), Seppa (East Kameng district), Tawang (Tawang district), Tezu (Lohit district) and Ziro (Upper Subansiri district).

             The units conduct programmes in the villages on a variety of themes such as Education, Health, Rural Development Schemes, National Integration, Communal Harmony, Water Conservation, Women's Empowerment, Child Welfare, Welfare of Minority and Deprived Sections of Society, Direct Benefit Transfer Scheme, Aadhar, Nirman Bharat Abhiyan, Land Acquisition, Food Security etc. The method of publicity is interpersonal communication at the grassroot level with simultaneous feedback collection.
Regional Office, DFP, Itanagar organized concluding function of SOP on 11/03/16 at Itanagar. Three units namely Tawang, Nampong and Ziro carried out the SOP-III campaign during march. In their routine programmes 7 units covered 66 villages in border/minorities concentrated and other areas covering an approx audience of 13,340 with 223 film shows/photo exhibition/ group discussion in this state where villages are small and scattered
uring the month four sops organised by units on the themes of Gramin Vikas yojana, khishi Sichai Yojana, MUDRA, PMJDY, PMSBY, PMJJBY, BBBP, SBA , Atal Pension Yojana, PMKBY, Skill India Mission, PMSY and other flagship programmes. Out of four SOPs two was organized on the theme of Azadi-70 Yaad Karo Quarbani by Bomdila and Nampong unit on 16/8/2016 and 22/8/2016 respectively. Director visited Pasighat on 4/8/2016 and attended SOPs on 5/8/2016 at Berung village where Sh Kaling Moyong,MLA attend
During the month of April, 2016, Nine units of Arunachal Pradesh region organized many programmes on the theme of rural development, Drinking Water, Sanitation, PMGSY, Skill India Mission, BBBP in coordination with Panchayat bodies, DRDA and District Administration covering 78 villages and reached 16965 audience with Film shows, Photo exhibition etc. In addition units also organized Social Harmony Programme among the village Panchayat Members during the 10 day Campaign of Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan from 14th April to 24th April,2016. Public viewing of live telecast of Prime Minister’s address to all Panchayat members on the National Panchayati Raj Day on 24th April,2016 was arranged and distributed publicity materials related to Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan.
During February 2016 the FPUs in this region organised 6 SOP Phase 2 and 2 of SOP Phase 3 functions allotted to this region.Also the concluding function of the MCH & MI campaign was held in Itananagar. The units also carried out 24 routine publicity programmes in their areas.
Annual Concluding Function of the Special Outreach Programme on seven Flagship Schemes helad at the Banquet Hall of State Secretariat at Itanagar on 11.3.2016. In the absence of Chief Guest Shri. Satya Gopal, Principal Secretary (Finance),Government of Arunachal Pradesh the workshop was conducted by the Director, DFP, Arunachal Pradesh, Dr.Keshavamurthy.The function was attended by representatives of implementing agencies like Banks, Directorate of school Education/SSA, NHM, Directorate of Sill Development & Industries and Labour department along with Doordarshan.AIR and Officials of DFP units. This region was allotted 18 programmes under SOP. In his welcome address the Director, DFP, Arunachal Pradesh, Dr.Keshavamurthy informed the participants about the 6 month long campaign and thanked line departments for their participation. However he said that individual departments and publicity agencies are working in parallel and emphasized the need to pool the resources, efforts, publicity material together for a better reach and focused publicity. He assured line departments about sharing the contact details of DFP units at district level and requested the implementing agencies to instruct their field officials to tie up with the DFP while organizing campaigns or banking melas, skill melas or health melas.Officials of DDK and AIR were also advised to participate in these campaigns proactively. M.D of NHM Mr. P.N.Thungan apprised the meeting about various initiatives under Kaya Kalp scheme to improve hygiene, infection control and creation of awareness in district, Community health centers and said that detailed guidelines on Swacch Bharat Abhiyan have been circulated to all hospitals and the District Quality Assurance Committee reviews the cleanliness situation every month. He also explained the initiatives under Beti Bachao Beti Padao scheme specially with focus on adolescent health and requested DFP in creating awareness about HIV. He also informed that all District Medical Officers have been instructed to liason with DFP in creating health awareness. In his speech, Director Skill Development Shri. Subu Tabin requested the help of DFP,DDK and AIR in creating awareness in remote/ border areas about various skill training programmes and said that 9500 youth have been trained and 2500 have got proper placements under sectors like hospitality, motor mechanics, beautician sector,IT,etc. He also elaborated on the upcoming 4 new ITIs and the agreement of state govt with VTPs of various institutes. He also complimented DFP for reviving its activities after a long gap and recalled his younger days when DFP film shows and exhibitions were a big attraction. Shri.Tshering Thongdok, M.D.Apex Bank,Shri. H.Singh Lead Bank Chief Manager from SBI and representative of the APRB also shared their experience in implementing the social security and Financial inclusion schemes over the last one year and assured DFP about better coordination in future. Shri.Tshering also also requested DFP and other media units to help the banks in carrying the message of security schemes to every door step and said that that it is a big challenge after the operations have become online. He informed about the micro ATM cards and the plan to connect all villages through V-Sat with the support of solar energy operated units. He also emphasized the urgency on getting licenses to open more branches from RBI.Lead Bank Chief Manager spoke about the SBI initiatives on creating awareness through 6 LDMs(Lead Bank Manager),3 FIMs( Financial Inclusion Manager) and Customer Service Points( Bank Mitras) In Arunachal Pradesh 1, 23,098 accounts have been opened under PMDJY and 34,127 have come under PMJJBY and 53263 under PMSBY and 876 under APY cover as per the records of lead bank SBI. Apex Bank has covered 16,000 under PMDJY and is in the process of launching other schemes in larger scale. APRB has opened 15,815 accounts under PMDJY and 3,288 and 4,310 have been brought under PMJJBY and PMSY. Efforts are also on to extend loans under PMs MUDRA yojana. Even the Department of Labour informed that the Building & Construction Workers Board of Arunachal Pradesh is implementing PMJJBY and PMSBY. Representatives of DDK and AIR informed that panel discussions, talk shows, success stories have been organized in addition to coverage of field functions related to flagship programmes and urged the organizers to give advance information for better publicity.
During September 2016 DFP units organised various Publicity Programmes on Centreal Government Flagship Schemes through group discussion, photo exhibition, film show etc. Covering 110 and reached 12605 audiences. The Regional Office organised MCH-1 workshop on 27th in association with state NHM directorate. Hindi Pakhawada was observed from 15th to 28th with 3 monthly workshop on 28th September 2016
Orientation Workshop on Special Outreach Programme was Chaired by State Chief Secretary Smt. Shakuntala D Gamlin, 0n 19/5/2016. First SOP on NDA govt's two years in office was held at Nirjuli village near Naharlagun on 26/5/2016. In addition all 9 units carried out routine publicity programmes like film show, oral communication, photo exhibition on flagship schemes covering so many villages.covering 68 villages reached 10000 audience.
During the month of October,2016 the Regional Office, DFP, Ar. Pradesh Region organised all allotted 7 SOPs on MCH and MI in Seven selected districts. Health Department, Local Administration, WCD Deptt. actively participated. The highlights are Public Rally , Healthy Baby show cum health checkup, theme bases Quiz competitions, film shows participated by villagers, Govt/PRI Officials, paramilitary force Jawans , ASHAs, Anganwadi Workers, Students etc ,covering 84villages&reached13780 audience
During the month of November(upto 24th), Regional Office as well as Unit offices organized Vigilance awareness Week, campaign on Demonetisation of currency notes and Flag Day.Besides normal awareness on MCH, Mission Indradanush, MUDRA, PMJDY,PMSBY,PMJJBY,BBBP, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Gramin Vikas yojana, Khishi Sichai Ypjana,,Atal Pension Yojana,Pradhan Mantri Krishi Bima Yojana and Skill India Mission etc were held at various locations in in Arunachal Pradesh in close coordination with villagers
During the month Arunachal Pradesh Region organised 6 SOP on the ongoing central govt. flagship schemes. Besides SOP some unit organised International Day of Yoga on 21st June,2016 and Swachh Bharat Pakhwada by organizing social service which was participated by student community, general public and staffs from different departments in their respective headquarters covered 33 villages and 6270 audience.
Four Special Outreach Programmes organised by Tawang,Bomdila,Tezu and Daporijo units.In addition all nine units organised routine publicity activities. Cleanliness drive organised as part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.110 villages and 24990 people were reached during the month.
During the month of December, 2016 the DFP units organized routine publicity programme like Oral communication, Film show and Photo exhibition etc. on the themes of various central govt. flagship programme. In addition units also organised awareness programme on Demonetization at various villages and distributed publicity materials covering 76 villages and reached 13275 audience.
During the month of January, 2017 regional office and its field units organised cleanliness drive from 16th- 31st January, 2017 in various places as well as office complex as part of Swachhta Pakhawada with the participation of NGOs, student communities, local peoples and villagers. Besides cleanliness units also organised film shows, oral communications, photo exhibitions on the flag ship programmes of central govt. covering 91 villages and reached 16903 audience.
