    VISION:

     We envision to inform and empower the people with awareness on central government policies and programmes –

           • Making people informed through interpersonal sustained publicity campaigning;

              • Bringing about attitudinal changes in the minds of the people through publicity programmes;

           • Mobilising public opinion in favour of implementation of welfare and development programmes.

    OUR MISSION:

     We act as a facilitator in coordination with state/ central government departments/ agencies to create awareness about the policies, programmes and achievements of the government.

     Our mission thus is to empower the weaker sections of society especially at the grass roots level with information about schemes meant for their betterment and persuade them to derive benefit from them.These include:-

                • To collect feedback and report to the development agency in measurable, analyzable and actionable manner.

                     • To the client Ministries to enable them to tailor their plan and formulate polices in the best interest of the common man.

      INDICATIVE EXPECTATIONS FROM SERVICE RECIPIENTS: Our services to the citizens are absolutely free. We do not charge fee for providing publicity support to our clients on various on-going national themes. However, we organize special programmes to focus on specific themes on client ministry/organisation’s request and these are organized on the basis of funds made available to DFP by the concerned ministry/ organization.

SUGGESTIONS: We welcome suggestions for improving the quality of our programmes and serving the citizens of the country through our programmes.

NEXT REVIEW OF THE CHARTER :

      e) Any grievance may first be lodged with the concerned Regional Officer.

     RESPONSIBILITY CENTERS AND SUBORDINATE ORGANIZATIONS :

     The Directorate has 22 Regional Offices (detailed below) each headed by an Additional Director General/Director/Joint Director/Dy. Director level officer to supervise publicity activities of units under their jurisdiction. Presently there are 207 Field Publicity Units headed by a Field Publicity Officer and are equipped with audio-visual equipment, publicity literature, exhibition kits and a vehicle, which carry out the publicity activities on government policies and programmes.

        As part of publicity activities, film shows, song and drama programmes, sports meets, debates, competitions, quiz, seminars, talks, group discussions, healthy baby shows, rallies etc. are organized by our field units.

Highlights
 
The Region conducted 02 Special Outreach Programmes during the month of July, 2017. The Field Units of Karnataka Region also organized routine programmes during the month of July,2017 . The each interactive programme package included Public Meeting, Film Shows, Photo Exhibitions and Group Discussions.
 
(a) The Field Units of Karnataka Region organized a various publicity programmes on Flagship Programmes of Union Government during the month of JULY, 2012 with a special focus on NATIONAL RURAL DRINKING WATER PROGRAMME(NRDWP). The programmes included oral communications (interactive sessions, group discussions), film/video shows, etc. Besides this all the Units focused on Declining Child Sex Ratio and Survival of Girl Child to create awareness among general public through interactive sessions/group discussions during the month. Names of themes covered : Flagship Programmes, National Integration & Communal Harmony, Health & Family Welfare, Literacy, PM’s New 15 Point Programme for the Welfare of Minorities, etc. The field Units of the Region observed WORLD POPULATION DAY and organized suitable programmes on the themes in their respective jurisdiction.
(a) The Field Units of Karnataka Region organized a Campaign on Health & Family Welfare during the month of OCTOBER 2012 in their respective jurisdiction by organizing special interactive programmes on NRHM focusing on Janani and Shishu Suraksha Yojana, Immunization in all over Karnataka and Diabetes, Cancer, HIV/AIDS in selected districts. The each special interactive programme includes Rally, Quiz contest, Film Show, Photo Exhibition, Group discussions, Public Meeting followed by prize distribution. (b) The DFP Units of Mysore and Chitradurga, participated in the Public Information Campaign(PIC) on Seven Flagship Programmes of the Union Government including Bharat Nirman in Bagepalli Block of Chikballapur District on 05.10.2012 & 06.10.2012 (Pre-PIC) and from 07.10.2012 to 09.l0.2012. During the PIC the DFP Units covered nearly 21-villages of Bagepalli block to create awareness on the themes. The DFP made its endeavor to carry the messages to the masses on MGNREGA, NRHM, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Mid-day Meal Scheme, Right to Information Act and components under Bharat Nirman. The response to the programmes in these villages were very positive and proactive. Shri N.D.Prasad, Field Publicity Officer, DFP, Mysore was the Nodal Officer for the campaign. On 7th October, 2012 the DFP organised an awareness rally in Bagepalli, which was flagged off by Shri S.Venkateshwaralu, Addl. Director General(M&C), PIB, Bangalore. Shri M. Nagendra Swamy, Director, DFP, Bangalore Shri Vishwanath, Additional Divisional Commissioner, Shri Chandrasekhar, Tahasildar, Bagepalli and others were also present on the occasion. The campaign was inaugurated by Shri N.Sampangi, MLA, Bagepalli, Speaking on the occasion he said that the centre has launched number of welfare schemes like MGNREGA, NRDWP, Bharath Nirman, PMGSY, SSA, NRHM, Middy Meal Scheme etc. He told that the Union government had emphasized to improve the quality of life in the rural India. Earlier, Shri M. Nagendra Swamy, Director, DFP, Bangalore made a prefatory speech and explained the objectives of the Public Information Campaign. He said this special out reach programme is aimed at empowering the rural people with information on Union Government’s various schemes. Dr.N.Manjula, Deputy Commissioner, Shri B.Shekarappa, Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Panchayat, Smt. Shobharani, Taluk Panchayat President, Smt. G.B.Sujatha Babureddy, Town Municipal President, Shri Vishwanath, Additional Divisional Commissioner and others present on the occasion. During the period, the DFP Units conducted number of special interactive programmes including competitions and seminars. The programmes were focused on different target groups like self help group members, youths and students. The competitive events were held to ensure the participation of the people for the special interactive programmes.

Highlights: (a) As per DFP Hqrs. instructions, the Field Units of Karnataka Region launched a 10-days long campaign on Direct Benefits Transfer Schemes in their respective jurisdictions during the month of MARCH, 2013 The programmes included oral communications (interactive sessions, group discussions), film/video shows, etc. (b) The Field Units of Karnataka Region also organized a various publicity programmes on Flagship Programmes of Union Government during the month with a special focus on PRADHAN MANTRI GRAM SADAK YOJAN. The programmes included oral communications (interactive sessions, group discussions), film/video shows, etc. (c) Special awareness programme in connection with International Women’s Week and Voters awareness was conducted. (d) Themes covered : National Integration & Communal Harmony, Health & Family Welfare, Literacy, PM’s New 15 Point Programme for the Welfare of Minorities, etc. (e) Besides this all the Units focused on Declining Child Sex Ratio and Survival of Girl Child to create awareness among general public through interactive sessions/group discussions during the month.
